PéTER SIMON

Péter Simon

Péter Simon has been the director of the Institute of Mathematics at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary since 2017. He earned his PhD in mathematics at the Eötvös Loránd University in 1993. He has held academic and research positions at the Department of Applied Analysis and Computational Mathematics at ELTE and at the University of Leeds in the UK.

Simon’s main fields of research are the qualitative theory of differential equations and network science. His research activity focuses on the relation of neural networks and deep learning to differential equations. He is the author of two monographs and more than 100 scientific papers. He has been the secretary of the Bolyai János Mathematical Society since 2015.
